History-Social Science

Department Information

The History-Social Science Department offers courses in world history and United States history. Students learn about world societies from the Renaissance and medieval Japan, to African empires, and the earliest American civilizations, to mention only a few examples. Students of United States history learn to trace our county's origins from American Independence to the closing of the west, examining along the way how well our country has kept the promises made in the Declaration of Independence. Critical thinking, historical skills, and problem solving are emphasized.
