What do I do when my child is late or absent?
If a student is late to school or is absent one or more days, the student must bring a note to the front office to check in before school. The note must contain: current date, date(s) of absence, student's first and last name, parent/guardian signature and phone number. If the parent/guardian is unable to send a note with the student, please call the 24 hour attendance line at (916) 566-2730 and select option #2 to leave a voice mail to clear the absence. Please be sure to speak slowly and clearly when leaving student's first name, last name and return phone number.
Students are to check in at the attendance office when they have been absent to receive an admit to class from the office.
All unverified absences will be considered unexcused if not cleared within 5 days.
If a student needs to be excused from class early, we ask that the student bring a note, signed by the parent/guardian, to the office before first period begins. If the student is not able to bring the note, we ask that the parent/guardian call the attendance office at (916) 566-2730 at least 30 minutes before pick up. We will then have the student in the office ready to be picked up. Please note that the parent/guardian must come to the main office with an ID to sign out the student. The parent/guardian will be given a copy of the early dismissal that the student must bring back to the office to be given an admit to class on the following day.
